By Benjamin Flowers: To celebrate his country’s historic World Cup victory, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, ruler of Saudi Arabia, has declared a national holiday, the UK Daily Mail reports.

Saudi Arabia faced off against Argentina earlier today and won the game 2-1 in what is being called one of the biggest shocks in World Cup history.

Saudi Arabia’s team had been ranked 51st, coming in behind the host national Qatar, which made history on Sunday being the first host nation to lose its opening game. Meanwhile, Argentina was ranked 3rd in the world, which caused many sports fans to doubt Saudi Arabia’s chances.

Following the game, King Salman declared that all students, public and private sector workers would get Wednesday, November 23, 2022, off.
