Commissioner of Police issues defence of Police’s actions that killed Francis Ramos

By Aaron Humes: According to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams, while a formal investigation is underway, the actions of the police officer that fatally shot Francis Ramos, also known as “Francisco” and “Snake Eyes”, were to this point justifiable.

Police had been looking for Ramos on the strength of a complaint and cornered him on the Swing Bridge just before 10 a.m.

Ramos, previously convicted of attempted murder a few years ago and more recently accused of attempting to slash a police officer when being apprehended, behaved aggressively and kept advancing even after being shot twice, once in each leg.

Ultimately, Williams said, he left the officer under threat with no choice, but his actions will be reviewed with the evidence submitted to the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions.
