International News: 2-year-old left home alone while parents go to New York

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Authorities in South Carolina say that the parents of a 2-year-old left him home alone and went to New York, Yahoo reports.

Police say that the toddler was found alone in the dad’s apartment around 2 pm on Thursday, November 17.

Both parents were arrested on Monday and are in police custody. They were both charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.

The child was found by a manager at the apartment who was doing an emergency walk-through.

The child was sleeping on a bed in the living room, with an empty water bottle beside him.

The toddler had a dirty diaper, but otherwise seemed to be in good health, authorities say.

When police got a hold of the toddler’s dad, he said he was only “a few states away” and had left the child about 6 am Thursday and assumed the mom was taking care of the child.
