2022 FIFA World Cup: France qualify to 2nd round on Kylian Mbappé brace against Denmark

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: France became the first country to qualify to the 2nd round of the 2022 World Cup on a pair of goals by Kylian Mbappé defeating Denmark 2-1 at the 974 Stadium in Doha in front of 42,860 fans.

Mbappe scored with his right thigh off a long cross by Antoine Griezmann in the 86^th minute to secure the win and the first ticket to the Round of 16 with two consecutive victories.

Mbappe had opened the score in the 61^st minute just to have Andreas Christensen tie it in the 68^th.

France played an impressive game with Griezmann controlling the ebb and flow of the match and Mbappé putting the finishing touch.

France close out the first round against Tunisia on Wednesday, November 30, at the Education City Stadium in Doha while Australia battle Denmark at the Al Janoub Stadium in Al Wakrah.

Left for today at 1:00 pm, Mexico face Argentina at 1:00 pm at the Lusail Stadium in Al Daayen in a match neither of them can afford to lose.
