Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize congratulates musicians for participation in COVID-Relief for women in emerging industries

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Friday, November 25, 2022, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, David Kuan-Chou Chien attended the Orange Networking Cocktail to commend the achievements of 5 female music artists that were part of the “COVID-Relief for Women in Emerging Industries (music) Project”.

The five musicians honored were Melonie Gillett, Jackie Castillo, Chanelle Parks, Denise Castillo, and Miss Honey Dee.

The event was organized by BELTRAIDE and held in Belize City.

Attendees included Ambassador Amalia Mai, CEO of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Immigration, Jaime Briceño, Ambassador of Investment and Deputy Chair of BELTRAIDE, Stuart Leslie, Cabinet Secretary, Narda Garcia, CEO of Office of the Prime Minister, and Dr. Leroy Almendarez, Executive Director of BELTRAIDE.

The officials all extended congratulations to the 5 musicians and reiterated the importance of women’s empowerment and the true friendship between Belize and Taiwan.

“Taiwan will continue to cooperate with Belize to promote female entrepreneurship of MSMEs in Belize and to enhance the benefits of Belizean people,” a statement from the Taiwan Embassy said.
