Police believe missing man was murdered; charge taximan

By Aaron Humes: The search for 66-year-old Owen Tucker, a businessman of Belize City, has turned into a murder investigation as one person has been arrested and charged.

Earlier this afternoon, police in Ladyville formally arrested and charged Jerome Chester Crawford, 40, of Yorke Street, Belize City, on a charge of murder.

As part of their investigation according to media sources, Police also have in their custody a Kia Sorrento, which they believe Tucker was killed in. Ladyville police impounded it.

Tucker was reported missing on November 23. He was last seen in Biscayne the day before. According to Channel 7 News, he had recently purchased the property formerly known as Crocland and was planning to open an Eco-Park and Resort next month.

Police continue to search for his body.
