By Aaron Humes: Sources have just reported the discovery of the body of 66-year-old Owen Tucker, businessman and owner of the former Crocland property in the Belize River Valley, along the Lemonal Road in the Belize District.
Tucker was apparently shot dead over the weekend, police suspect, allegedly with a 12-gauge shotgun.
During this morning’s police briefing, Commissioner of Police Chester Williams indicated that the suspect, Jerome Crawford, who has since appeared in court charged with the murder, had in his possession at his residence such a weapon, and was known to have had a dispute with Tucker, his former employer, over money. Today, he said, police would intensify their searches for Tucker’s body – he had been reported missing since last Wednesday.
We’ll have more shortly on the police’s case against Crawford and his arraignment in court.
