International News: Mexican boxer, Canelo Álvarez to Lionel Messi: ‘He better pray to God that I don’t find him’

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Mexican boxer, Saul ‘Canelo’ Álvarez has sent a warning to Argentina football star Lionel Messi, who he accused of disrespecting Mexico, CNN reports.

Alvarez took to Twitter to express his discontent with the football star after a video circulated of Messi “cleaning the floor with our shirt and flag”, Canelo said.

“Did you see Messi cleaning the floor with our shirt and flag????” Álvarez tweeted.

Reports indicate that Messi appeared to kick the shirt accidentally as he took off his football boots.

“He better pray to God that I don’t find him!! Just like I respect Argentina, he has to respect Mexico! I’m not talking about the country as a whole, just about the bulls**t that Messi pulled,” Alvarez added.

On Saturday, Argentina beat Mexico 2-0 and Messi scored the opening goal, before Enzo Fernández sealed the win late on to keep Argentina’s World Cup dream alive.

Former Argentina teammate, Sergio Aguero responded to Canelo saying that after games, shirts are always on the floor due to sweat and that Messi accidentally hit the shirt when he removed his boot.
