Jerome Chester Crawford arraigned for the murder of Owen Tucker

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police have found the body of Belize City Businessman Owen Tucker and the man accused of being responsible for his death was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this afternoon.

Forty-year-old Jerome Crawford, a taxi driver of Belize City appeared unrepresented in court where a single charge of murder was read to him.

Crawford had to be taken to Courtroom #8, which is normally used in civil matters, to appear before Magistrate Dennison Mannon as some magistrates were in a training session.

No plea was taken and due to the nature of the offense bail was denied. He was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until January 26, 2023.

Tucker was reported missing on November 23, having last been seen on November 22. Today, police found Tucker’s body in the Belize River Valley, along the Lemonal Road in the Belize District.
