By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is that there have been 81,225 cases of Monkeypox in 110 locations around the world.
The United States has reported 29,325 cases of the viral disease.
Mexico has reported 3292 cases, Guatemala- has 172 cases and Honduras has 11 cases.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recently announced that ‘mpox’ is the preferred name for Monkeypox.
WHO says that both names will be used for 1 year until the word Monkeypox is phased out.
