Special Envoy’s Wonder Woman is Education Administrator, Dr. Carol Babb

Today’s feature is on educator and education administrator, Dr. Carol Babb.

Dr. Babb is an experienced educator and administrator with a vision and determination to provide equitable access to education at all levels.

Throughout her career, she has lobbied for basic needs for our students and encouraged stakeholder support in the overall improvement of literacy in schools.

In addition, Dr. Babb has promoted and supported Financial Literacy Education to help youths develop into adults who make informed financial decisions and live more productive life.

In her most recent professional engagement, she was our country’s, Chief Education Officer.  

Dr. Babb is now the Country Director for Peacework Belize, where she assists the Executive Director of Peacework in the implementation of Financial Literacy Programs in Belize.

Her professional involvement in education also includes her service as Deputy Chief Education Officer at the Ministry of Education Supervising all District Education Centers countrywide from 2008 – 2015.

Dr. Babb has also served as Justice of the Peace, President of Belize National Teachers Union from 1996 – 1999, and General Manager for Anglican Primary Schools in Belize, managing 22 schools with over 350 teachers across the country from 2000 – 2008.

Dr. Babb was also the Principal at Queen Square Anglican Primary School from 2000 to 2008 and a teacher at Queen Square Anglican Primary School, where she taught all subjects at the Upper Division from 1979 – 1999.

Dr. Babb holds a Doctoral degree in Higher Education, a Master’s in Secondary Education, and a Bachelor’s in Education.
