By Benjamin Flowers: A man reported to police this week that his licensed firearm was stolen while he was out on a fishing trip.

Sixty-nine-year-old Santos Matute told police that he went fishing in the Malacate area of Mango Creek, Stann Creek District, around 4:40 a.m. on Tuesday, November 29, and left the weapon locked in his vehicle.

Matute said that when he returned he noticed that the weapon, a.9mm Ruger pistol with serial #304-38-339, was missing.

Police are investigating.
