By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, the University of Belize (UB) received $25,000 from the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT) for assistance in recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Lisa.
The assistance will be used for facilities at the Calabash Caye Field Station (CCFS).
President Vincent Palacio remarked that “This contribution will assist significantly in our recovery efforts. As longstanding partner with PACT, we are extremely grateful for this support and we look forward to having the operations of the CCFS fully functioning as soon as possible”.
The CCFS serves as a vital research station for the country of Belize including Non- Governmental Organization (NGO’s) and international groups.
