Couple busted with firearm and ammunition remanded to prison

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City couple was sent to jail this week after being charged with firearm-related offenses.

Twenty-four-year-old Charles August and 30-year-old Eloise Baldarez, appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Thursday charged with one count of kept firearm without a gun license and one count of kept ammuntions without a license.

In court, both pleaded not guilty and due to the nature of the offenses, they were denied bail and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until January 2023.

Allegations against them are that police found a .22 revolver and six live .22 rounds during a search.
