Ruperto Pinelo makes history as Belize Coast Guard’s first Navy nurse

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Benque Viejo native, Ruperto Pinelo makes history as the Belize Coast Guard’s first Navy nurse.

Pinelo graduated from Mopan Technical High School in 2015.

 In 2018, he joined the Belize Coast Guard and was awarded a full scholarship to pursue his goals in Mexico City.

“I started my studies in August 2018 at Escuela de Enfermería Naval and recently graduated in August 2022. At the moment, I am doing my internship at Centro Médico Naval to obtain my Bachelor’s Degree as the first Navy nurse of the Belize Coast Guard,” Pinelo said.

Pinelo says that his educational journey at Mopan Technical High School empowered him with the necessary knowledge and skills to apply as a Navy Nurse.

Mopan Tech has since extended congratulations to Pinelo on his accomplishments.
