Senior citizen’s home in Ladyville shot at and she is injured

By Aaron Humes: 62-year-old Diamantia Hernandez of Perez Road, Ladyville, was injured by gunfire Saturday night when someone targeted her residence after 10 p.m.

According to police, the victim and her husband were speaking inside the residence when four gunshots were heard, one of which hit Hernandez in her right abdominal area near the ribs. She was taken to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment and is stable.

Police have detained one person in connection with the ongoing investigation.
