Cycling’s Marlon Castillo injured in a workplace accident; may lose hand

By Aaron Humes: Cycling competitor Marlon Castillo was reportedly injured in a workplace accident this morning in Belize City and is presently hospitalized, according to sources.

Castillo owns a meat shop and apparently caught his hand in one of the machines. He was transported to Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital and we understand may be in a battle to save the injured hand.

Castillo was fourth in this year’s Cross Country Cycling Classic and counts wins in the National Road Championship and KREM New Year’s Day Cycling Classic in his hefty championship resume.
