By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is holding a two-day national workshop in Belmopan under the CARICOM AgReady Green Climate Fund (GCF) project.
“The Objective of the workshop is to obtain feedback on key findings from studies (regional and national) and consultations done under the CARICOM AgReady Project, as well as validate and procure ideas for informing the development of two GCF climate agriculture projects,” MAFSE said.
“The expected outcome from the national discussion is to document feedback and input of stakeholders on key findings of studies and project ideas which will be used to improve reports and GCF concept notes.”
MAFSE said the workshop is being attended by representatives from IICA, the Citrus Growers Association (CGA), Citrus Products of Belize Limited (CPBL), the Caribbean Agricultural Research and Development Institute (CARDI), the Sugar Industry Research and Development Institute (SIRDI), ASR/Belize Sugar Industries (ASR/BSI), the Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA), the Protected Areas Conservation Trust (PACT), MAFSE, the University of Belize, the National Climate Change Office (NCCO), and the Ya’axche Conservation Trust.
