Ladyville man fined for public drinking

By Breaking Belize News Staff: While drinking in public may be a common occurrence in Belize, a Ladyville resident was reminded this week that consuming alcohol in public is, in fact, a crime.

Twenty-two-year-old Peter Moss appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Monday, charged with a single count of consuming an alcoholic beverage in public.

He pleaded guilty to the offense and told the court he was out collecting bottles and police found him with a Belikin in his hand, and acknowledged that it was open when the Magistrate asked.
