The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) said the regional event seeks to promote a joint position on the role of family farming in developing more innovative, sustainable, inclusive, and resilient agri-food systems, within the context of recovery with the transformation of rural economies.
MAFSE said that at the end of the meeting the participating countries will make a joint declaration committing to strengthening their actions under the framework of the seven pillars of the Global Action Plan of the United Nations Decade for Family Farming.
“Family farming offers a unique opportunity to ensure food security,” said MAFSE indicating that includes sub-regional political dialogue with the participation of representatives of family farming and civil society organizations.
