Police officer may face disciplinary charges for releasing video of double murder that ended up on social media

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The scope of the Belize Police Department’s investigation into the double murder that occurred in Belize City on Sunday has expanded to include one of its own officers.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Fitzroy Yearwood, told the media today that a video regarding the murder ended up on social media and the department is looking into the involvement of a police officer.

“Internally, we have seen a video being circulated on social media and we know that is in direct violation of our social media policy,” Yearwood said.

He added that the matter is being looked at and whoever is responsible will be dealt with internally.
