Premier League of Belize says Altitude-Verdes Final to be played Thursday night in Independence

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Premier League of Belize (PLB) said the second leg of the Finals between Altitude and Verdes Final is to be played Thursday night at the Michael Ashcroft in Independence, according to an Altitude FC social media post.

The PLB Organizing Committee ruled that if the game cannot be played tonight, that it should be played on Sunday at the FFB Field in Belmopan.

The match was postponed last Saturday because of the wet condition of the pitch after heavy rains in Independence. Altitude maintained that it could be played but the Game Commissar said otherwise. Verdes agreed. Altitude said they had played under similar conditions in Cayo the previous Sunday.

Altitude claimed there were over 4,000 fans at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium. Altitude advised fans to save their ticket stubs saying they would be given priority to enter the stadium whenever the next game is to be played.

The first leg ended in a 1-1 draw.

Incidentally, the PLB has not made any public announcement of the rescheduling of the match.
