2022 FIFA World Cup: Argentina, Netherlands will decide semifinalists in penalty kicks shootout

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After a 2-2 draw that went all the way to extra time, Argentina and the Netherlands will now decide the second semifinalists in a penalty kicks shootout.

The match finished 2-2 in regulation time. Neither team was able to do each other any more damage during the extension.

A last gasp goal by Wout Weghorst in the 90’+11+ sent the Netherlands-Argentina Quarterfial match into extra time.

Argentina took the lead on a goal by Nahuel Molina in the 35^th and then Lionel Messi made it 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 73^rd.

Weghorst had scored the Netherlands first goal in the 83^rd off a header.

The winners go on to the Semifinals against Croatia.
