By Breaking Belize News Staff: Twenty-year-old Derrick Davies is free from a charge of robbery after the complainant dropped the charges this week.
Davies appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, charged with robbing Raymond Augustine of his bicycle at gunpoint.
Augustine told the court that he does not wish to pursue the matter any further, prompting the Magistrate to ask him if he was being forced, threatened, or otherwise coerced to do so.
He said that he was withdrawing of his own free will and no further evidence against him. Davies was free to leave.
The incident in question reportedly happened on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, on Lacroix Boulevard in Belize City. Augustine’s police report said that there were three people involved in the robbery, but only Davies was charged for the incident.
