U.S. Ambassador meets with Minister of National Defence and Border Security

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Thursday, December 8, 2022, U.S. Ambassador to Belize, Michelle Kwan met with Minister of National Defence and Border Security, Florencio Marin Jr.

“Ambassador Kwan reaffirmed the United States #enduringpromise to deepening the full range of the important Belize-U.S. security partnership,” the U.S. Embassy noted.

Ambassador Kwan and Minister Marin underscored the need to focus coordination on strengthening border security, countering transnational organized crime, and building Belize’s disaster response and resilience to meet security challenges and contribute to regional peace and stability.
