Diana Cus dies in motorcycle accident in southern Belize

By Benjamin Flowers: A young woman is dead following a motorcycle accident in southern Belize yesterday.

Police say that 23-year-old Yuly Salinas was riding her motorcycle along with 21-year-old Diana Cus, when she lost control at the junction of Savannah Road and Thomas Vincent Ramos Highway.

Salinas reportedly ran into the concrete divider and both women received severe injuries; the incident killed Cus on the spot.

Salina was transported to the Southern Regional Hospital (SRH) where she was treated and released.

Police have since detained her and served her with a notice of intended prosecution.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
