Opposition Leader Shyne Barrow extends thanks to Jamaica Prime Minister Andrew Holness for political advice

By Benjamin Flowers: Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow, following his attendance at the Іntеrnаtіоnаl Dеmосrаt Unіоn (ІDU) fоrum in Washington D.C., has extended his thanks to Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness for the advice he shared at the event.

Barrow attended the forum, which is a gathering of соnѕеrvаtіvе аnd mоdеrаtе роlіtісаl раrtіеѕ fоundеd іn 1983, from December 6-9, where he met with senior politicians from various countries.

He took to social media after the meeting to say that the advice shared by Prime minister Holness will better prepare him to not only lead the United Democratic Party to victory at the general elections but also to become a more effective government.

“In his remarks to the IDU PM Holness said something that stuck with me as to how he was able to take Jamaica from the brink of financial ruin to a stronger economy than ever before, he said “he took the politics out of policy” when appealing to his citizens for prudent fiscal management of the Country which translates into solutions for the key 4, Employment, Education, Healthcare and Citizen Security,” Barrow said.

He added that political partisanship has no place in the work of nation-building and that the vision and mission have to be focused on what is best for the country and the people.
