Commissioner of Police collides with tourist’s vehicle on busy highway

By Aaron Humes: A visitor to Belize and the Commissioner of Police met rather unusually when the latter’s vehicle rear-ended the former’s accidentally on the George Price Highway on Sunday.

According to Channel 7 News, the Commissioner says he was overtaking on the highway near Blackman Eddy village when, he says, the vehicle in front of him decided to make a left turn without checking behind him and hit his back wheel, which sent his Ford Explorer into the front end of a smaller vehicle being driven by the tourist.

There were no injuries reported and the Commissioner’s vehicle suffered no damages. Nonetheless, we presume the police are investigating, at least for the official record.
