International News: Nuevo Leon re-instituted mask mandate as COVID-19 cases rise

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, officials in Nuevo Lean announced that the state is reintroducing the obligatory use of face masks in closed public spaces in an effort to reduce the rising COVID-19 cases, Reuters report.

The measure went into effect immediately after being announced.

Data shows that Nuevo Leon is one of the communities with the highest number of cases in Mexico with daily cases going to almost 120.

Health statistics show that about 86% of the population has received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

Officials continue to advise the public to take the necessary precautions to protect themselves and their loved ones.
