The Institute of Archaeology in the National Institute of Culture and History (IA/NICH) on Sunday announced that the Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch, Barton Creek, and the Actun Tunichil Muknal (ATM) Reserves had been opened.

The IA/NICH had announced on Saturday that the three sites had been closed due to elevated river conditions at those locations.

All other archaeological reserves are open to visitors.

The IA/NICH said it will continue to monitor river conditions and provide necessary updates, and advised visitors to always exercise caution, be aware of weather conditions, and the possibility of flash floods.
