Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize attends Cayo North’s Christmas Arts and Crafts Fest

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Saturday, December 10, 2022, Taiwan’s Ambassador to Belize, David Kuan-Chou Chien attended the opening night of “Cayo North’s Christmas Arts & Crafts Festival” in San Ignacio.

Ambassador Chien enjoyed the Christmas market comprised of 50 female entrepreneurs, organized by Cayo North United Women’s Group.

The Taiwan Embassy in Belize noted that this event was implemented under the “Women Empowerment Project”, a bilateral cooperation framework between the Governments of Belize and Taiwan.

Also present were Rossana Briceño, Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children, Martha Zamarripa Rivas, Mexico’s Ambassador to Belize, Claribel Cocom, President of Cayo North United Women’s Group, Robert Pan, Chief of Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) in Belize and Miguel Wang, expert of TTM.

During his remarks, Ambassador Chien congratulated the 50 female entrepreneurs and reiterated the importance of women’s empowerment and the true friendship between Taiwan and Belize.

“Taiwan will continue to work with Belize to promote female entrepreneurship of MSMEs in Belize and to enhance the welfare of Belizean people,” the Embassy of Taiwan in Belize noted.
