PC Darien Skeen survives explosive motorcycle accident; will undergo surgery today

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police constable Darien Skeen managed to survive a road traffic accident yesterday, where his motorcycle exploded upon colliding with a delivery truck.

Skeen was riding his motorcycle on the Philip Goldson Highway when the delivery truck made a left turn obstructing the flow of traffic. Skeen slammed into the truck at high speed and the motorcycle burst into flames. He received several injuries in the accident and was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Reports are that Skeen was conscious and speaking with investigators earlier today, and gave an account of the incident, saying that he jumped from the cycle at the last second to avoid fatal injury.

Skeen is reportedly scheduled to undergo surgery sometime today for the injuries he sustained.
