Prosecution mysteriously drops theft charge against 18-year-old woman moments after she is arraigned

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City woman charged with theft walked free of her charge moments after her arraignment in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.

Cashier, 18-year-old Lenny Uk, was accused of stealing $500 from her place of employment, DK Supermarket in Belmama Phase 3.
Right after she pleaded not guilty to the charge, the prosecution informed the court that the charges were being dropped, but did not give an explanation as to why.

Following this development, Uk was free to leave.
