Benque Viejo man receives new home from Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing just in time for Christmas

By Benjamin Flowers: The Ministry of Infrastructure Development and Housing (MIDH) has made a Benque Viejo man’s Christmas, by delivering him a brand new home.

The MIDH delivered the new home and handed over the keys to Santos Cunil today, in what was described as an emotional event.

“It gets to a point where words can’t express the emotions felt when we hand over new homes to deserving Belizeans. God’s blessings on you, Mr. Santos Cunil from Benque, and we wish you a happy Christmas in the comfort and security of your own home,” the MIDH posted on its Facebook page following the handing over.

Under the first phase of the ministry’s housing project, a total of 150 homes will be distributed countrywide. Prime Minister John Briceno recently praised the Ministry for the structural integrity of the houses, noting that all the homes delivered managed to hold together during Hurricane Lisa.
