Dangriga man hospitalized after being shot following argument; suspect identified

By Aaron Humes: Keron “Fambo” Welch was shot on Wednesday afternoon on Pen Road, Dangriga Town, following an argument, according to police.

Welch and three other men were in the area of the riverside when one of them began arguing with Welch. Police say Welch armed himself with a plastic pipe, but his assailant had a gun and used it, shooting at him four times and hitting him to the left thigh. Welch ran off to seek help while his assailants fled the area in a boat, going out to sea.

Police have identified the shooter and are seeking him and two others pending investigation. Welch, meanwhile, remains in stable condition at the Southern Regional Hospital.
