Sadie Vernon High School, Wesley College win Central Zone High School Basketball championships

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Sadie Vernon High School and Wesley College won the Central Zone High School Basketball championships this week.

On Wednesday, the Sadie Vernon High School (SVHS) captured the Central Secondary Schools Sports Association’s Boys’ championship with a 65-55 win over St John’s College (SJC) at the Belize Civic Center.

The day before SJC had beaten SVHS 68-65 forcing the final game in which Sadie Vernon bounced back and gained victory to claim the regional title.

In the Girls’ Final, Wesley College secured the championship with a 33-8 win over Pallotti High School on Tuesday.

Pallotti had beaten Sadie Vernon 24-20 in the previous round.
