International News: FIFA rejects President Zelensky’s request to share peace message at World Cup final

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The request made by Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky to share a message of world peace at the World Cup final tomorrow has been rejected by FIFA, CNN reports.

A source told CNN that President Zelensky planned to appear in a video to fans in the stadium in Qatar, ahead of the game.

The source says that they were shocked by FIFA’s rejection.

“We thought FIFA wanted to use its platform for the greater good,” the source said.

However, FIFA and Ukraine are still having discussions.

Ukraine has consistently tried to use major world events to keep the spotlight on the war in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian President continues to rally support for Ukraine.
