Belize City man fined for possession of a crack pipe

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A 21-year-old Belize City resident was fined in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court this week, for being in possession of a crack pipe.

Michael Torres appeared in court on Monday, charged with possession of a pipe, to which he immediately pleaded guilty with an explanation. He told the Magistrate that he was indeed in possession of the pipe, but that he was holding it for a coworker.

For his early guilty plea, Torres was fined $4,200 plus $5 cost of court which he was ordered to pay by February 19, 2023, in default he will face two months in prison.

Officers on motorcycle patrol found the pipe on Torres during a search conducted on Freetown Road on December 17.
