By Aaron Humes: Ambassador of the United States to Belize Michelle Kwan continues her rounds, most recently meeting with Leader of the Opposition Moses “Shyne” Barrow.
According to Barrow, he and the Ambassador discussed the five key areas of education, economy, healthcare, creative/sports and citizen security. He further expressed gratitude for the immeasurable contributions the United States has made to the development of Belize in our 41 years as bilateral partners.
Barrow cites the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) grant in the hundreds of millions of dollars that will go to helping Belize alleviate poverty as just one of the recent contributions the U.S. has made to Belize.
The Opposition, he says, “reaffirms its commitment to working with the U.S. to strengthen Democracy, protect human rights, fight against endemic corruption and bring about regional stability.”
