Teenager arrested in early December murder of Douglas Gonzalez in Dangriga

By Aaron Humes: Police this evening say that in reference to the murder investigation of Douglas Gonzalez on December 3, 2022, they have arrested and charged 18-year-old Zanique J-Kwan Baltazar of Dangriga Town for murder.

On December 2, according to police, Gonzalez was along the south side of the Riverside Street area of Dangriga near the bridge when he was shot at from behind by two men.

Gonzalez managed to make it to his home and was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital in Dangriga where he died four days later.

Police had detained three persons that night including two brothers and the investigation included a search of their homes for evidence. Based on the evidence gathered so far, Baltazar was charged, and it is likely that charges will be laid against others as police continue their investigations.
