Belize welcomes seasonal flights from Canada, and North America

Posted: Friday, December 23, 2022. 11:17 am CST.

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Belize continues to be a growing, viable and a must-visit destination in Central America.

A testament to this is the continuous increase of airline flights from Canada and North America during the winter season.

The Belize Tourism Board (BTB) noted that effective November 2, WestJet resumed its flights to Belize from Toronto, Canada. Flights will be every Wednesday and Saturday from Toronto, and from Calgary on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays until April 2023.

On November 7, Southwest Airlines resumed a daily flight service from Houston, Texas and a weekend service from Denver, Colorado.

Meanwhile on November 19, Alaska Airlines commenced flights with a 4 times per week non-stop service from Los Angeles, California and 3 times per week non-stop service from Seattle, Washington.

For the entire month of December, Air Canada is offering a non-stop service from Toronto, Canada on Sundays.

In addition to the above seasonal flights, other airlines continue to offer flights to Belize.

Copa Airlines offers a Friday flight to Belize from Panama effective December 1 to December 31, 2022.

American Airlines now provides a daily flight to Belize from Miami and Dallas. It also offers a daily flight from Charlotte every Saturday for the entire month of December.

As of December 15, Delta offers every day flights from Atlanta, Georgia.

United Airlines is offering daily flights from Houston and from December 17 to 31, 2022.  United Airlines will provide flights from Newark and Chicago on Saturdays and every Sunday from Denver, Colorado.

Visitors can also get to Belize from Minneapolis this winter.

Sun Country will fly December through April and Delta, through December. Both of these services are on Saturdays only.

Meanwhile, Tropic Air, Belize’s local Airline, started a flight to San Pedro Sula, Honduras on November 15.

In addition, the airline also offers daily flights from Cancun; every day flights from El Salvador, except Tuesdays and Sundays, as well as flights from Roatan, Honduras every Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday.

TAG Airlines also operates a daily flight to Belize from Guatemala City from Sunday to Saturday.

The BTB says that it is delighted about the increase in the seasonal flights being offered by the airlines and welcomes all visitors to our shores.

“Belize is a country where Mother Nature thrives abundantly.  The distinctive blend offered by our rainforest and reef-based tourism, combined with unique experiences deeply rooted within our cultural fabric, our warm hospitality and excellent cuisine places Belize’s tourism in a class of its own,” the BTB added.
