Man charged with assaulting his partner released on bail

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man is out on bail after being charged with assaulting his partner during a domestic dispute.

Twenty-nine-year-old Ervin Lambey appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, charged with a single count of common assault, to which he pleaded not guilty.

There was no objection to bail and it was granted to him in the sum of $500 plus one surety of the same.

Under his bail conditions, Lambey was initially told to keep 100 yards away from the complainant; however, he noted that they both work for the same company, making that condition difficult to maintain. He was then instructed not to have any contact with her of any kind while the proceedings are ongoing.

Lambey is due back in Court on January 24, 2023.
