Belize City man shot dead after answering door for “police”

By Aaron Humes: Police are investigating a murder earlier this morning in the Old Capital, reportedly caused when the victim answered the door for what he thought was the Police Department.

Lindon Mark Hinds of Pitter Street, Belize City, was at home asleep just before 2 a.m. when someone knocked at the front door shouting “Police”.

When Hinds opened the door an unknown man who had approached the door opened fire on him causing the fatal injuries.

A post-mortem examination of Hinds’s body has been scheduled.
