By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Hattieville man is out on bail after being charged with a number of offenses in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court.

Twenty-two-year-old Alexander Fuller, son of the late Leroy Fuller who was recently found dead in Hattieville last week, appeared unrepresented in court, charged with one count of aggravated assault, one count of common assault, and one count of damage to property.

He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of $1,000 which he was able to meet. He is due back in court on February 23, 2023.

In court he explained that on the day in question, December 22, he was at the bridge in Hattieville where authorities discovered his body. He noted that a tamales vendor, later identified as Anthony Paulino, repeatedly passed up and down the area over the past few days, but on that day Paulino was smoking a cigarette and Fuller asked him to show some respect to his dead father and put out the cigarette.

Fuller claims that Paulino then attacked him and he responded in self defense.
