International News: U.S. House of Representatives ban TikTok from official devices

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The popular dancing app, TikTok has been banned from all official devices managed by the U.S. House of Representatives, CNN reports.

An internal notice sent to the staff said that users who install the video app will be asked to remove the software.

The notice identifies TikTok as a “high risk to users due to a number of security risks.”

In addition, the U.S. Government is also looking at banning TikTok from federal devices.

The decision comes after several states in recent weeks have implemented their own prohibitions against TikTok on government devices.

The video app owned by Chinese company, ByteDance has become widely popular but its usage across the U.S. has raised alarms.

Last month, FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers that the app could be used to control users’ devices citing national security concerns.
