Man charged with assaulting his wife of 15 years after finding her in bed with another man; wife drops charge

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Hattieville man, charged for assaulting his wife of 15 years after finding her in bed with another man, has been cleared of the charge.

Thirty-seven-year-old Jareth Staine appeared unrepresented in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, answering to a single count of common assault. The wife appeared in court saying that she was requesting no further court action, since she was able to get Staine to leave their home.

After they both gave their versions of what caused the demise of their marriage, Staine was released for want of prosecution.
