By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE) recently conducted a soursop cultivation training in the Toledo District.
“A training session on soursop cultivation and maintenance was carried out for 40 farmers in San Pedro Columbia, Toledo,” MAFSE said.
“The training covered different activities of soursop cultivation from site selection to harvesting.”
MAFSE said the training session was conducted by Barry Palacio, National Fruit Trees Coordinator. Soursop is one of several alternative crops MAFSE has been promoting. As part of the drive, MAFSE recently brought in a Brazilian expert to train Belizean technicians and farmers on the cultivation and maintenance. Since his visit, MAFSE has held several training sessions around the country.
