Brandon Cattouse to defend Krem’s New Year’s Cycling Classic title

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: On January 1, 2023, 501 Valvoline’s Brandon Cattouse will be taking the road to defend his title as winner of the 2022 Krem’s New Year’s Cycling Classic.

Cattouse won the 31st edition of the 96-mile race from the Corozal Free Zone at the Belize-Mexico border to Belize City. Cattouse crossed the finish line on Central American Boulevard next to the Belize Civic Center together with his teammate Derrick Chavarria, who was the first Under-23 rider.

G-Flow Cayo Cargo’s Jyven Gonzalez was third a few yards behind the front two. FAL’s Sherwin Roca rode in fourth.  Westrac Alliance teammates Eric Trapp and Angel Tzib were fifth and sixth, respectively.

C-Ray D Banner’s Goran Gabourel won the 2022 Junior Category ahead of G-Flow Cayo Cargo’s Renan Codd in a sprint finish.

C-Ray’s Gabrielle Gabourel took the 2022 Women’s race. Her teammate Kaya Cattouse was second.

Both the Junior and Women’s races went from Orange Walk to Belize City.
