International News: World Population projected to be at 7.9 billion on New Year’s Day

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The U.S. Census Bureau says that the world population is estimated to be at 7.9 billion people on New Year’s Day 2023, the Associated Press reports.

According to the Census Bureau, this marks a 0.9% increase in the world population over the last year.

In the United States, it is projected that a baby is born every 9 seconds and there is a death every 10 seconds.

In addition, net international migration is expected to add a person to the U.S. population every 32 seconds
