Murder on Wall Street: Michael Williams shot dead in Belmopan and two others injured

By Aaron Humes: A Belmopan resident is the latest victim of murder in Belize while two others lie injured in hospital.

On Thursday night, Belmopan Police visited a residence on Wall Street, Belmopan and were shown the body of Michael Williams, also known as Itza but other particulars unknown.

The owner of the house told the police that the deceased has been living at his residence for about a year. Initial investigations revealed that the deceased had just arrived home on his bicycle with groceries when what appeared to be 8 gunshots were heard.

Shortly after 2 more shots were heard and a neighbour about a block away realize that her house was shot at as well. Police were further informed that two other men were taken to the Western Regional Hospital with gunshot injuries. A walk-through search was conducted as to the possible route of the culprit where it was observed that the culprit ran from the murder scene, passing the neighbour’s house into a dirt road where the other 2 men were and shot them as well. These persons have been identified as Selvin Teck, 24, and Nelson Sosa, 38, who both received gunshot wounds to the body. Both victims were listed in a stable condition.

Police investigations continue.
